Gambro BCT says ISE's
EnterpriseSCHEDULE "revolutionized control of our batch processing"
Gambro BCT is a frontrunner in the blood bank technology industry.
The Gambro BCT you know today dates back to its inception as COBE BCT in the 1980's. They made their start in therapeutic
apheresis, achieving important advances in red cell and plasma exchange technology, as well as stem cell therapy. Then they reached further - setting new standards in blood component collection.
Gambro's manufacturing operation produces the equipment that makes this advanced technology possible and according to systems administrator Bob Gassert, none of this
would be achievable without the advanced batch processing capabilities of ISE's EnterpriseSCHEDULE. More...

EnterpriseBACKUP
MEDIA is a complete enterprise backup and media management solution. All your nodes can be part of your backup strategy, whether VMS, UNIX or Windows.
MEDIA will maintain a comprehensive database of all backups, what media were used and what files were selected.
MEDIA is divided into three distinct functions:
- Media Librarian
- The librarian keeps track of all types of removable media that you need to manage. A central database is maintained that discribes each medium. From what files are on it, to what type removable medium drive it can be used on.
- Backup Manager
- The manager keeps track of all backup jobs whether they are local or remote. Each job defines what disks are to be backed up. They type of backup, incremental, full etc. Each entry identifies what media have been used and when the each was performed.
- Restore System
- The restore system allows the user or manager to easily query the database to determine what is needed to restore a file, directory or an entire disk drive. The amount of information is governed by the access rights of the requesting user.

What are my options for managing the EnterpriseSCHEDULE database across the Enterprise? Is
the database Distributed or is it Centralized? Can I use Schedule servers in a cluster?
There are four ways to configure the database(s) of Schedule servers.
- The default installation is a Distributed Database for peer-to-peer Schedule servers.
- The second configuration is a Clustered Database where servers cooperate in sharing a single database for the
group of Schedule servers.
- The third choice is a Satellite Central Database where a Central Schedule server serves the database out to
other Schedule servers. More...
