Wake Forest School of Medicine found the cure for their job scheduling woes in EnterpriseSCHEDULE

Wake Forest University School of Medicine is noted for its innovations in medical and graduate student education. In 1968, the medical school established a Division of Allied Health Sciences and started the Physician Assistant Program. The school, after 12 years of offering a problem-based curriculum to one-fourth of each medical school class, began a new curriculum in 1998 that combines a small-group problem-solving approach, early clinical experience and new technology such as laptop and hand-held computers to access academic and clinical databases. EnterpriseBACKUP

EnterpriseBACKUP facilitates reliable, regularly scheduled backups of OpenVMS, UNIX, and Windows NT systems throughout an enterprise. A centralized approach allows users to backup remote systems to the removable drives on a central OpenVMS system. A centrally managed approach, on the other hand, allows backups to be administered by the central OpenVMS system but actually carried out on the remote systems, where the data is written to their own removable drives. EnterpriseBACKUP automates such management tasks as media location tracking and file content coordination and automates data retrieval. Plus, full disk recovery, directory tree reconstruction and selective file restoration are all supported.

Schedule Tooltips

Does schedule have the ability to modify the make-up of the job commands and script at run time?

When there is a need to "run time" modify or substitute script text and instruction flow, there is EnterpriseSCHEDULE's "Job command preprocessing". The text makeup of the commands in a job are run through a preprocessor that searches for control instructions and variable replacement expressions before the job is created.

One of the most common inputs to a program is a date. Here are two examples in Unix and OpenVMS, whereby a program Summary_Report requires today's date. The preprocessing replaces everything between the "(( ))" with the actual runtime evaluation.
