INTUit 4th Annual Conference: Where Ideas and Solutions Come Together

The conference will be held in San Antonio, Texas from January 29 thru February 1 at the El Tropicano River Walk Hotel and the Municipal Auditorium.  This relationship has been formed through the number of mutual customers running both the ISE scheduling solution and the GE Healthcare software. ISE will be present on the exhibit floor throughout the conference and will be conducting a seminar highlighting EnterpriseSCHEDULE on Tuesday afternoon.

EnterpriseSCHEDULE

SCHEDULE is organized as a server process with client programs. The server is the engine that works in a detached process to submit jobs for execution when appropriate. It reschedules jobs based on your instructions, and it constantly checks to see which jobs are due to be executed. In addition, the server process performs all database I/O, network communications, and scheduling state changes.

You pass information to the server process using any of the user interfaces described in the later section `User interfaces'. These user interfaces act as client programs to the SCHEDULE server. The clients pass information to the server to request some action to be taken, such as submitting a job to be executed.

EnterpriseBACKUP

One of the features of EnterpriseBACKUP is the cluster and network support.  Full support is provided for any combination of VAX CPU's in a cluster. Jobs will automatically be placed in the right queue for the node that has the correct type of tape/disk drive. Full support is also provided for any degree of sharing across a network. Geographically distributed media libraries are supported while maintaining a central database. Jobs will not be created at one location that entail reading a tape stored at another distant location. All users of the Librarian have full access to the entire collection.

There are several ways to disable a day on calendar to prevent the running of a Job.
a)   From the Windows GUI you can select any Calendar from the Explorer View. It is always best to keep Calendars in the "Default" folder. Select the property pages of a Calendar and to disable individual days on one single Calendar select the property page "Edit Marks". Toggle on "Disable day" and click on the days you want to disable. *** See Screen 1. From the Schedule Command Line or the Motif GUI, the mark "+" disables days. More...
