EnterpriseSCHEDULE
One of the many features of SCHEDULE is having a configurable central database...
Distributed or centralized support means the SCHEDULE database can be configured across a network of systems either as a centralized network with
satellites or as a group of peer-to-peer databases. The entire SCHEDULE database is organized into directories. Any number of directories can be
created. Any number of concurrent users can use the system. The Report Writer generates reports on the SCHEDULE database. You may select from a
large number of standard reports, or create your own by customizing the report definitions.

EnterpriseBACKUP
The MEDIA database is accessible on-line, allowing you
to find any particular medium and what files it contains at any time, without having to mount each medium or rely on a manually updated information
system. The database consists of information about every tape and removable disk or other storage device in the library. Whenever a medium is
modified, the on-line information is automatically updated to reflect the new contents.
There are two types of informational files about media:
- The header information file contains information about each medium, tape type, length, density, format, disk size, protection, initialization and availability status.
- The contents information file is an optional on-line file that lists the contents of each medium, all of the files written on the medium and information about each file (creation date, version number, size). It is necessary to include a file specification in the DIRECTORY command to access the contents information file.

SCHEDULE Tool Tip
Can I keep track of when the make-up
of a job changes, the details of what changed and who changed it? The Sarbanes-Oxley Act has driven more journaling requirements for us.
Yes, Journaling can be deployed on SCHEDULE Version 7 and later by simply:
(a) modifying the parameter file, "sch0_parameter.dat" in schedule_library, (b) setting the value, "JOURNALING_ENABLED = 1",
(c) and restarting the SCHEDULE server, (d) SCHEDULE server journaling begins.
With that said, there are several things to keep in mind about managing journaling. There is a directory repository for journaling in
schedule_library called sch0_journal. Text files are created in this directory every time a job is modified. The amount of data to manage in
journaling can be large. To help with this, the journal text files have date/time stamps in their naming convention to aid file/journaling
management. More...
