EnterpriseSCHEDULE Prototype Jobs
Providing Real World tasks to fit the needs of today's enterprise

As EnterpriseSCHEDULE has evolved into its current enterprise-wide, multi-platform incarnation, a need has arisen for jobs that focus on common tasks within a job framework that is simplified for end users. This need has been met through the introduction of Prototype Jobs which facilitate the creation of jobs that perform commonly scheduled tasks such as FTP, Database query, reporting, file polling and performance testing and monitoring. By limiting the scope of these job's main property pages and introducing custom data input fields, jobs created from prototypes are ideal for everyday operator interaction. An operator can quickly update a job's parameters without affecting other vital job parameters. And with the ability to easily create custom prototypes to fit our user's needs, it's assured that ISE's suite of EnterpriseSCHEDULE Prototype Jobs will continue to grow. Feel free to contact ISE for more about Prototype Jobs.

EnterpriseBACKUP

Commands: There are three types of MEDIA commands: DATABASE commands, job commands and device commands.

  • Database commands: These are commands that search, modify, or add to the on-line database. Database commands include DIRECTORY, RENAME_TO and SET. You will use this type of command most often.
  • Job commands: These MEDIA commands allow for the passing of VMS commands and command files to a separate MEDIA job. The VMS commands needed to allocate a drive and mount and dismount the tape are automatically added.
  • Device commands: These commands affect the storage device directly and include: MOUNT, INITIALIZE, ALLOCATE and UPDATE. These are not usually used by the general user because they require the presence of an OPERATOR to immediately respond to the command.
