Tetley is the second biggest tea bag brand worldwide, with sales in a number of key markets across the globe. Tetley
is a brand leader in both the UK and Canada, is a well established major brand within both the USA and Australian tea markets and has a developing presence in France, Poland and Russia. Tetley also holds brand leadership or significant shares within a number of other world tea markets.
Beth Seefelt of Tetley recently described the integral part that EnterpriseSCHEDULE
plays in their ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) operations. The US headquarters of Tetley recently decided to switch from their old OpenVMS job scheduler when it became cost prohibitive and was unable to efficiently run jobs initiated between Windows and OpenVMS. They chose
EnterpriseSCHEDULE from ISE when they found the cross platform job initiates worked as they should. Once installed, they quickly began converting their jobs.
The IT department’s operations are mission critical which include orders placed by retailers using EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) reporting. Beth says that there are currently
about 100 jobs running daily and soon they will be ramping up to around 250. These jobs utilize interdependencies (jobs that trigger other jobs when complete) which facilitates smooth job
streams.
When asked how the installation and implementation of EnterpriseSCHEDULE
went, Beth replied “It was really very easy”, further she said, “Overall I’m really happy and it works really well”. When asked how it improves on her previous job scheduler she said, “Because our operation is mission critical , we didn’t trust the previous scheduler with cross platform scheduling, with
EnterpriseSCHEDULE we do”.
